Well then.

Okay, Estray.net is finally (hopefully) back at fully functional status, so this webpage should be down far less often.

Also, the guys on the Mjolnir group decided that, for OpenGL based reasons, we wouldn't be doing it for Windows until we are far more experienced programmers. I am still not switching to Linux- so, this looks like the work I'll be doing on Mjolnir will be restricted to the 3D graphics and interfacing with Blender for modeling of game elements.

So, apart from learning SDL, don't expect more games from me any time soon. However, if you want to see my recent work, check out my page on the deviantART art community.

Back from the deeeeead

Okay. I'm back.

I spent a few months being a slacker, and doing other things- namely, working with Blender 3D for modeling and rendering. This stuff can be found at my page in the art community deviantART. Prompted by Benny's entirely badass Bubbles clone, OpenBubbles, I've decided to jump headfirst back into programming. Probably.

What does this mean? Well, it means that I'll be working on OpenBubbles a bit. I'm also working with Benny and Michael on a project called 'Mjolnir'. I'm not going to get anyone's hopes up about it just yet- there's a 60% chance it'll be vaporware, but we'll see what happens.

If I can figure out SDL (The C++ libraries used to make OpenBubbles), I'll be uploading new games of my own that are even more sexy and impressive than before. If I can get a hang of OpenGL, they'll even be 3D.

So, wish me luck getting back into the game dev hobby. ^_^

Moving Site

So, I'm sure you're wondering what I've been up to.

Well, nothing, really- just computer games, and trying to keep up with schoolwork. It's tougher than it looks.

However, coming soon, you'll be seeing a totally ad-free site! Yeah! I'm paying a measly $15 a year, now, to a good friend for top-notch server space. I just need to take the initiative (ugh) to move all my crap from geocities, over to estray.net. Don't worry about changing your bookmark, though- Once the change is done, you probably won't notice the difference- http://www.dolphinsafe.tk will still take you to the new site.

In actual game news, I'm thinking of coughing up an unfinished version of Bubbles 2, just so you all have something tangible from me. We'll see.

Update on my absence

For those of you that don't know me personally, I suppose I should tell you what I'm up to:
Lately, I have had no time for anything at all. I have been totally caught up participating in Mock Trial- our team made it to NM State finals! Once those are over, I'm taking a week long trip to Canada, yay! And, finally, after my vacation, I predict that I will likely get back into programming. Whew.

Wish us luck in the finals!

OpenBubbles in the future

Sorry I haven't been releasing any news lately. I'm up to my ears in busywork from my biology class, not to mention homework from other classes. I'm probably going to give SDL a try, and perhaps work with Benny on Openbubbles, to reclaim what was mine in the first place. I'm sure some of you would like to see it ported to Windows machines.

BC3

Alright, so I've decided to drop Bubbles 2 for a while, and picked up a new (see: old) idea. I'm working on BC3; Bubbles Course 3. I will probably drop the Bubbles Course title. BC3 should be at least three times as large as the first two; I plan for it to be the biggest project I've ever done.

If anybody has ideas for puzzles, foes, game mechanics, or anything of the sort, I would love to hear from you. I need all the variety I can get, for this.

Thanks!

Unlike SOME GAME COMPANIES, I am reluctant to release a sequel that will suck.

Okay, this is the part where I actually want feedback from the people that play my games and read my site. Seriously.

For those of you that have played the original Bubbles, it can be generally agreed upon that it is a good game. I am currently working on the often-promised sequel, Bubbles 2. The only trouble is, I'm having a bit of trouble making it not suck. If I continue to spend time on it, the game may or may not be mediocre, but regardless, it will be Bubbles 2. The other option is to give up on it for a while, and start on other game projects. So now I want you, my lovely audience, to let me know what you think I should do. Post a comment on this blog topic, and tell me if I should continue spending time and energy on Bubbles 2, or screw it and work on something else. I'll read all the posts, and a majority vote won't necessarily alter my decision. I just want to hear your feedback, so I get an idea of how many people actually want a Bubbles 2.

Thanks!
