Happy Holidays!

Well, here it is, the moment you've all been waiting for- or perhaps it was just me. The new game is called MouseTrap, and I think you'll like it. Unfortunately, since I'm a retard, I forgot to take a screenshot and upload the source code.

Update: Source code uploaded, and a screenshot of the game working on Wine has been graciously provided by Benny. :-D

OpenBubbles

Benny has just released his own version of Bubbles, called "OpenBubbles." The creation of this program seems to serve a few points: First of all, to bring Bubbles to a non-proprietary code- He uses C++ SDL libraries, as opposed to the Game Maker environment I use. Second of all, to release his own version of my game under the GNU GPL. The only difference between the GPL and my Creative Commons license is that anybody can sell the game under the GPL.

Personally, I'm a bit flattered that he went to the effort to remake this game. I'm not at all bothered by it, if you're curious- he gave me original credit for the game design, so I am satisfied. Maybe I'll even try using SDL on my own games. Please realize that I only use game maker because it is convenient for myself; my top priority is to make good, fun games. Making them open source takes a backseat to that.

Good job, Benny!

Notice anything different?

Hopefully, you don't- At least, not since I changed the news section. But unless you've got a keen eye, you probably would not notice that I've redone this entire page's HTML from the ground up. I might even do that to the other pages, before long. I'm also considering changing the entire layout of DSS, but that's for another time.

Ohh, I just can't wait to give you the new game!

Coming soon...

So, after redoing the news section, I've decided I might just give the whole website a makeover. Yaaay! This is still being considered, and not quite set in stone, though.

What is set in stone is that I will be releasing the mystery game on the 25th. It's all packed in it's zip file, and ready to be delivered to you. Say it with me:
Yaaay!

New News

A new news section, to be exact. My news is now hosted on blogger.com, in case the navbar directly above the section doesn't make it bleedingly obvious. This is mostly just for me; it'll make it easier for me to post, handle, and archive my Dolphin Safe News.

What this means for you is that you might get slightly more frequent news updates. And there will be much rejoicing.

Also, I have gotten rid of my tagboard. That will reduce useless jibjab on my site- instead, blogger allows you to comment on individual posts. Hopefully, that will keep you on topic- but I feel I'll regret saying that.

On the note of software, I am working on a new game to release on the 25th. Contrary to what I've said to a few people, it won't actually be Bubbles 2. It will, however, be a game that probably will not suck.
